Van Go Mobile Arts, Inc. is an arts-based social service agency that provides after-school and summer job-training programs to high-need and under-served youth in the Lawrence, Kansas community. Van Go is devoted to delivering constructive, art-related activities to children especially at risk for drug and alcohol use, teen pregnancy, or truancy.
Van Go has a new letter sign for its location! The letters spelling “VANGO INC” are made of large plates of galvanized metal with custom 4-inch, ST40 light fixtures mounted behind each letter. As shown in the photo, the SST fixtures give this unique sign a superb nighttime lighting effect!
Van Go’s new letter sign is also located in front of Van Go’s Exterior Tile Wall project. Created and installed in 2016, the Tile Wall is a mural that holds 700 fused glass tiles created by Van Go youth and donors. Each tile represents a financial gift to Van Go that helps secure the organization’s future. The Tile Wall is illuminated at nighttime by Sunlite’s 6-inch ST40 lights that are attached to an overhead beam.
We are very proud of the work that Van Go does in our community and wish them continued success with their art-related activities! Special thanks to Dan Rockhill, member of Rockhill&Associates and Distinguished Professor of Architecture at the University of Kansas, for his outstanding efforts in creating Van Go’s gorgeous new letter sign.
