Dirt Works Studio is a third-year architectural designbuild studio at the University of Kansas. The Studio was founded in 2012 with the mission “To educate architecture students through hands-on designbuild experiences, with a particular focus on sensorial tectonics and sustainable materials.”
This year Dirt Works Studio took on a two-semester renovation project that was its biggest and most complex to date: the design and construction of a new Chalmers Café in Chalmers Hall. Photos show some of the construction work on the project:
SST was pleased to work with Dirt Works Studio and provide a variety of our energy-efficient LED fixtures for the Chalmers Hall Renovation at significantly reduced pricing. As shown in the photos below, SST fixtures used for the project include:
- (5) 4-foot ST30 direct/indirect (up and down) fixtures
- (12) 4-foot ST30 down lighting fixtures
- (5) 2-foot ST30 down lighting fixtures
- (5) SR25 Bubble Glow pendant lights
